Letter for your manager

Subject: Proposal: Python for Revit course (PyPath)

Hi [manager's name],

I would like to learn how to automate our Revit work. With PyPath I can do that in 12 weeks, about ten minutes a day, on my phone or laptop. The exercises are about our field: building services and greenhouses.

What it delivers: repetitive work such as filling in parameters, making schedules and checking models, I can then do with my own button in Revit. If I save one hour a week, that is about €3,300 a year at €75 an hour. Including the learning time, the investment pays for itself in about 18 working weeks. The cost example is here: https://www.pypath.nl/en/business.html#calculator

What it costs: PyPath Basis is €99.99 one-time (PyPath Complete, with the trade packs, €249.99). That is less than one day of classroom training, and I am never away from work for a day.

Reimbursement: in the Netherlands, training can be reimbursed tax-free under the work-related costs scheme (werkkostenregeling). I buy the app myself and claim the expense.

My proposal: I will do week 1 first, which is free. If it works for me, we discuss whether the company pays for the rest.

Kind regards,
[your name]
